For over 20+ years the Spokane region has been served by a Center for Independent Living, also known as a CIL. CILs provide advocacy, peer support, independent living skills, information & referral, and transition services to the disability community. There are five Centers providing services in WA State. Our current center in Spokane has recently closed its doors. To facilitate the conversation and discuss next steps, WASILC will convene a special meeting in March to discuss the continuation of operations. This meeting will include time for public comment. We want to hear from you. Per the State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL), we are committed to keeping services in the Spokane region.
