Rob has been involved in the Independent Living Movement for over 15 years as a consumer, board member, executive director of a Center for Independent Living (CIL), and since 2006 as the executive director of the Washington State Independent Living Council.
He sees the role of the CILs as agents of change in their community, on the state level, and nationally. Honan is proud to serve as your SILC executive director. He invites you to explore the WASILC website and to become active on the SILC and with the CIL in your community.
Rob has a special interest in issues surrounding Deafness and Hard of Hearing. He is an advocate for technology such as closed captioning, CART, and flashing door bells, all of which he uses.
He is married to Laurie and has three kids, Althea, Eleanor, and Sophie.
