Goodbye Libby
Libby was a high school English teacher for 30 years in the
Los Angeles City High School for the Physically Handicapped.
When she retired and moved to Washington and became disabled herself with macular degeneration, her counselors from the State Services for the Blind recommended her to the Governor's Council for Independent Living. Governor Locke then appointed her to the State Independent Living Council and the State Rehabilitation Council for the Blind. As a volunteer on these two councils, she helps shape the direction of services for people with disabilities.
Libby at 82 years old, is proud to be the oldest member on both of these councils. Libby says she's not afraid to tell people where to go if they need directions. (LOL : -)
