In 2000 I received my BS in Psychology and In 2009 I received my Masters Degree in Christian Counseling, and in May of the same year I relocated to Seattle, and began working for the Alliance of People with disAbilities
In the past I've been an AmeriCorps Member for Coalition for Citizens with Disabilities and volunteer trainer, then a project coordinator for The Arc of Mississippi. I've conducted workshops on self-advocacy and self-determination. I've conducted, assisted and presented at various retreats and conferences. I've supervised and trained project trainers, developed quarterly newsletters, and conducted project overviews.
In the past I have sat on many boards and committees: Mayors Advisory Board, Project Heaven Advisory Board, (HOYO) Home of Your Own Committee, Path Board, Healthy futures Board, Correlation Transportation Advisory Board, Abused women Advisory Committee. In Seattle I am currently a member of the Transit Advisory Committee, SOAR School-Age Implementation and Action Teams,
In addition, I've conducted sensitive trainings for private and non private organizations and other service providers in Mississippi such as: High Schools/ Universities/ MIID Conference \ now known as APSE Mental Health/ Mental Retardation Conference / Local Chapters of The Arc of MS / The Arc Annual Conference in MS / Recreation Conference / Disability day at the Capitol in MS/ Different Regional Facilities / Living Independence for Everyone (LIFE) Conference of Ms / People First of Louisiana / G.
